Identification
Mottled brown duck with white and green flashes on its wings. Sexes similar.
Distribution
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
Andaman Teal was formerly treated as a subspecies of this species and another subspecies, remissa, is now included in Grey Teal.
Habitat
Open wetlands, freshwater lakes and marshes.
Behaviour
It nests on the ground, in tree holes or rabbit burrows.
