Identification

Distribution

Africa: found from South East Sudan to Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia and northern Tanzanianda]].

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Behaviour

These birds tend to fly low, alighting on rocks and stumps or bare ground. By day they roost on the ground under shrub cover, flying only a short distance if disturbed.

Diet

The diet includes insects for which it hawks around lights.

Breeding

It does not build a nest, simply laying its eggs on bare ground, usually under a bush.
