Distribution

Angola, Botswana, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zambia.

Taxonomy

Lanius souzae has three subspecies:^[1]

• L. s. souzae

• South-eastern Gabon to southern Congo, southern DRC, northern Zambia and Angola

• L. s. burigi

• North-western Tanzania to eastern Zambia, eastern Rwanda and Burundi

• L. s. tacitus

• South-eastern Angola to northern Namibia, southern Zambia, Malawi and western Mozambique

Habitat

Dry savanna.
