Distribution
South America: found from eastern Bolivia to south-central Brazil, eastern Paraguay, Uruguay and north-eastern Argentina.

Open dry and wet grassland.
Behaviour
Diet
They forage in pairs and small groups mostly for insects, with seeds also probably being eaten.
Breeding
They construct a small cup nest from grass and other plant material.
Vocalisation
Vocalizations are high pitch and nasal.
