Distribution
South-eastern Brazil (southern Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and eastern São Paulo).
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Serra do Mar Tyrant-Manakin has in the past been considered a subspecies of Wied's Tyrant-Manakin.
Habitat
Moist lowland forest edges and montanes.
