Indonesia: Sangihe and Siau islands (northeast of Sulawesi)
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Formerly this species and Sulawesi Lilac Kingfisher were considered one species under the name of Lilac-cheeked Kingfisher.
Habitat
Forest and plantations up to 1000 m asl.
