Distribution

Pakistan and India.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species1; however, some authorities recognize an additional subspecies testacea2.

The scientific name used for this species has in the past been Ammomanes phoenicurus.

Habitat

Open stony country and low rocky hills.
