  • Dark green upperparts
  • Reddish-green underparts

Distribution

South America: found in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Clearings and borders of woodland in mountain areas with subtropical and temperate climate.

Behaviour

Diet

The main diet consists of nectar and insects.

Breeding

Their clutch contains 2 white eggs. Incubation is by the female alone.
