Identification

Distribution

Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species1.

Formerly placed in genus Myrmotherula.

Habitat

Moist lowland forests.

Behaviour

Normally found in pairs foraging close to the ground, they will readily join understorey mixed-flocks as they cross their territory.
