Asia: China, Tibet, Nepal, Pakistan, India, Eastern and Western Himalayas, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Hong Kong
Southeast Asia: Indochina, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.

Subspecies

There are 2 subspecies^[1]:

• P. r. roseus:

• Himalayas (Afghanistan to south-western China, Myanmar and northern India)

• P. r. stanfordi:

• Southern China to southern Thailand and southern Laos

Habitat

Moist lowland forests and montanes.
