Piranga roseogularis

Location: Cancun, Mexico.

Identification

Small (15cm, 6") tanager. Male: overall gray with a red crown, reddish wings and tail, and a rose-pink throat patch and crissum. Female: The red parts of the male are replaced with olive. Gray chest and sides, a yellow throat, and buffy belly and crissum.

Distribution

Belize, northern Guatemala, and the Yucatan Penisula of Mexico.

Habitat

The edges of subtropical or tropical dry deciduous forests and heavily degraded former forest.
