Distribution
South America: found in south-eastern Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul); vagrant to Paraguay and Argentina.
Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Open savanna woodland, araucaria pine forest and gallery forests, moist montanes and plantations.
Behaviour
Breeding
They nest in tree hollows.
Diet
The diet includes fruit, seeds or flowers.
