Identification

18–19 cm

  • Brownish-grey upper parts

Distribution

Arid north-eastern Brazil (Piauí, n Bahia and w Pernambuco).

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Placed in the genus Gyalophylax by Gill and Donsker.

Habitat

Dry savanna.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists of spiders and seeds.
