South America: found in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru

Habitat
Cloud forests, open shrubby paramo (high altitude tundra).

Diet
Their main diet consists of nectar gleaned in hover-flights, though often clings to the flowers when feeding. They also eat some insects.
