Distribution
South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, The Guianas, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 2 subspecies[1]
- E. c. cristata
- E. c. alticola
- Tepuis of southern Venezuela (south-eastern Bolívar) and adjacent northern Brazil
Habitat
Tropical savanna, and garden areas.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists of insects and berries. They perch on the tops of trees and shrubs.
Breeding
The cup nest is constructed from finely woven moss, covered with lichens; it is then lined with plant wool.
