Sub-Saharan Africa.

Taxonomy

Some consider this species and the Pink-throated Twinspot Hypargos margaritatus to be conspecific.

Hypargos niveoguttatus has two subspecies:^[1]

• H. n. macrospilotus

• Angola to eastern DRC, Kenya, Somalia, Tanzania, Zambia and Malawi

• H. n. niveoguttatus

• Eastern Zimbabwe and southern Mozambique
