Notable Species

This is a small river with the the usual waterfowl. Common Kingfisher can be seen. Along the walkway to a bramble blackberry, apple, birch, and willow trees. Bullfinch, Blackcap, Reed Bunting, Reed Warbler, Garden Warbler, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff, Eurasian Sparrowhawk, and Common Kestrel are present, with the latter often seen on the church.

Park on the road close to the church on Church Street, New Basford (OS Grid Reference: SK553426). Walk down the pathway alongside the River Leen, under the bridge and along the river.
