Identification

12 cm

  • Brown upperparts
  • Greyish-tawny underparts
  • Black head
  • White throat, forehead and lores
  • Narrow white eye-ring
  • White thighs

Distribution

Western Africa: endemic to Cameroon found only in the montane forests of Mount Cameroon.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].
Formerly placed in genus Speirops.

Habitat

High-altitude shrubland and moist montanes, forest and scattered trees within grassland.
