Habitat

Frequents a variety of wetland habitat ranging from those more established to those resulting from seasonal rainfall.

Behaviour

Diet

An omnivorous and opportunistic feeder, they primarily gravitate toward invertebrates found in a wetland type environment, vegetable matter, smaller fish & shellfish, as well as insects.

Breeding

Nest amongst vegetation on the ground.
