Solomon Islands (Bougainville, Kolombangara, New Georgia, Santa Isabel, Guadalcanal, and Malaita)
Taxonomy
Traditionally, Lorikeets were classified as belonging to either the subfamily Loriinae, or as a distinct family, Loriidae. However, more recent molecular data does not bear this out, and the scientific community is still divided.
This is a monotypic species.[1]

Diet includes nectar.
