Overview
Province of Larache. the Larache wetland ( 35�08'12 N- 5�58'67) occur in the north-of Morocco 150 km North of Rabat and 80 km south of Tangier. 4 kM far from the atlantic coast. it's fed by the river of Loukkos,the water table and also conditioned by the rain in winter.

Notable Species
The vegetation is rich and abundant (scirpus, reeds, Iris, water lilies,typha, ...) in addition to that the place presents a mosaic of habitat (Cork oak forest,rice plantations, fields,..). Many species of birds can be seen in this place. According to Imad Cherkaoui, 2004; 216 species was seen in the four last years; most of them are water dependent. Little Bittern, Great Bittern, Glossy Ibis, Greater Flamingo, Eurasian Spoonbill, Ferruginous Duck, Marbled Duck, Montagu's Harrier, Lesser Kestrel, Baillon's Crake, Western Swamphen, Red-knobbed Coot, Whiskered Tern, African Marsh Owl, Red-necked Nightjar, Savi's Warbler, Great Reed Warbler, Moustached Warbler, Dartford Warbler, Reed Bunting (the only population of this birds known Africa live here).
