Overview
Parts of the Naliya Grassland in Kutch, Gujarat (Northwest India) was declared as Kutch Bustard Sanctuary in 1992. The grasslands east of the town of Naliya are famous for its breeding Indian Bustards. They also hold a wide variety of interesting passerines and raptors.

History and Use
Like other grasslands the area was mainly used for grazing. However recently parts of it are getting converted into farmland. This is also happening inside the Sanctuary. If this development goes on the future for the bustards looks dark.
