Overview
A park of spectacular scenery including Norway's highest mountains, Glittertind at 2,470m, Galdhropiggen at 2,469m and several others over 2,000m.
Birds
Notable Species
Elswhere in the park there are deep valleys, long fjord-like lakes, glaciers and rivers. The birdlife is typical of a Scandinavian mountain area with Golden Eagle and White-tailed Eagle, Rough-legged Buzzard, Western Capercaillie and Rock Ptarmigan. Passerines include Lapland Bunting and Snow Bunting, Horned Lark and Bluethroat. The wooded areas have woodpeckers, Blackcap and Icterine Warbler.

Access and Facilities
The park is easily reached from Boverdal, Bygdin or Bessheim and has hiking trails, staffed tourist cabins and huts. Guides are available for climbing and visiting glaciers.
