(Redirected from Ifrita)

Genus: Ifrita

This genus contains only one species from New Guinea.
This genus is one of only two described bird genera with poisonous members, the other being the genus Pitohui, also from New Guinea.

Ifrita is placed in the family Ifritidae.
However the taxonomic placement is still unsure and it has been placed close to the Niltava flycatchers, the fairywrens, the whistlers or in the family Eupetidae or Monarchidae.
