Henna-tailed Jungle Flycatcher has been split into two species:
- Sula Jungle Flycatcher - Sula Islands (Taliabu, Seho, Mangole and Sanana) in Indonesia
- Banggai Jungle Flycatcher - Peleng Island in Banggai Islands off Sulawesi, Indonesia
These were formerly placed in genus Rhinomyias.
