Peleng Island in Banggai Islands off Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Taxonomy

Formerly placed in genus Rhinomyias.
Banggai Jungle Flycatcher and Sula Jungle Flycatcher were formerly together as one species, Henna-tailed Jungle Flycatcher.

This is a monotypic species^[1].
