- Glossy bluish-black forehead, rounded bushy crest and nape
- White patch in front of eye
- Red eye ring

- Bluish-black Upperparts
- Green underparts
Juveniles similar to adults but duller
Distribution
East Africa: found in the highlands of Kenya, adjacent Uganda and north-eastern Tanzania
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Evergreen montane forests at heights around 1500–3200 m. They also occur in well timbered suburbs.
Behaviour
Diet
Their main diet consists of fruit and berries.
Breeding
The nest is a shallow platform of loosely interlaced twigs. The clutch has 2 white eggs which both parents incubate for 22-23 days. The young fledge at 28 days.
They are monogamous and territorial.
