Distribution
Found on the Moluccas (Morotai, Halmahera, Kasiruta, Bacan, Obi and Bisa), Indonesia.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
It was formerly included in Flame-breasted Flowerpecker.
Habitat
Forest, scrub and riverine woodlands, mostly up to 800 m.
Behaviour
Diet
They forage in the canopy, their diet being little known. However, it probably consists of fruit and possibly nectar and pollen from mistletoe.
Breeding
The nest is an oval pouch without a lining. It is constructed from plant material.
