Identification
29–33 cm (11½-13 in)
- Greyish-brown head
- Rufous forehead, neck-sides, back of the neck and mantle
Distribution
Western Africa: endemic to, and found locally in, escarpment of western Angola
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Formerly placed in genus Francolinus.
Habitat
Dense thickes and understorey of gallery and secondary forests.
Behaviour
Diet
They feed in grass on arthropods, seeds and shoots. There is little else known.
