Identification

19–21 cm

  • Greyish brown face
  • Rufous upperparts
  • Long tail
  • Yellow eye

Distribution

South America: found from northern Brazil to northern Bolivia, Paraguay and northern Argentina

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Woodland, scrub and riparian thickets. Tropical savana. Nearly always found near water.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists mostly of insects, including beetles.
