Distribution

South America: found in northeast Venezuela.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.

Sometimes placed in genus Basileuterus.

Habitat

Cloud forests and forest edges and clearings of coastal mountains of north-eastern Venezuela.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists of insects and invertebrates.
