Gray-fronted Quail-Dove - BirdForum Opus

Ground-dwelling dove with purplish-blue sheen on the back and a gray crown. Bill and legs reddish. Displays a peculiar balance of the neck and tail while walking.


Endemic to Cuba. Highly endangered.


This is a monotypic species.

It's considered conspecific by some authorities with White-fronted Quail-Dove.


Tropical lowland forest.



Their diet consists of seeds, insects and caterpilars.


Continuous low uup-uup-uup-uup without pauses.
