Distribution
Eastern Africa: found from Ethiopia to southern Somalia, eastern Kenya and north-eastern Tanzania
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Scrub, reeds, coastal lowland cultivations with palm trees, bush, woodland and commonly found in hotel grounds.
Behaviour
Diet
They eat seeds and insects.
Vocalisation
Song: a creaky eee-urr-twa-twee-twu.
