Identification
Male 28 cm
Black with long tail and golden-yellow tufts on wings (sometimes hidden)
Distribution
South America: found from Venezuela to very northernmost Brazil and Guyana.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1]. It has previously been considered part of (Columbian) Mountain Grackle
Habitat
Wet subtropical epiphyte-filled forest in Tepuis areas, ranging up to higher cloud and elphin forests.
Behaviour
Flocks often feeding in mid story of forests.
Diet
There is very little information available, but thought to include fruit, arthropods and vertebrates.
