Identification
16 cm
Bright green with yellow round the blue eye-ring and looking almost pink on the forehead. The primaries are black and the short, square tail is golden-yellow with black tips though the central rectrices are green.
Distribution
South America: endemic to eastern Brazil (Pernambuco to São Paulo).
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Atlantic forest fragments. Lowland evergreen and sand-plain forest.
Behaviour
They fly fast and high.
Diet
Little is known, apart from eating fruit.
