Identification
- Small size
- Drab brown overall
- Blackish downcurved bill.
- Faint scaling on the throat.
Similar Species
Wakolo Myzomela has red on its face and lacks indistinct throat scaling. Seram Honeyeater is larger with a paler bill, pale cheek mark and has heavy breast streaking.
Distribution
South-east Asia: found in the Southern Moluccas (Islands of Seram, Ambon and Boano) in Indonesia.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
It prefers the canopy in forest and forest edge, mostly in foothills and mountains.
Behaviour
Often gathers in small flocks within flowering trees.
Vocalizations=
High-pitched “sis, sis, sis…” calls and chattering notes.
