Distribution
South America: found from south-eastern Colombia to extreme north-western Bolivia and western Amazonian Brazil.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Lowland and foothill damp forests and second growth, particularly near water courses.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists almost entirely of arthropods.
Breeding
They are thought to be [[Dictionary_M-O#M|monogamous. An observed nest, which was a 15cm deep cup, was constructed from fine, dried plant material, placed about 3 m above ground.
