  • Dark blue crest
  • Black face
  • Reddish head
  • Dark blue breast and mantle
  • Brown-tinged lower back
  • Olive brown wings and rump
  • Chestnut belly
  • Dark brown purplish tail
  • Black upper bill
  • Red lower bill
  • Purple-red legs

Distribution

Formerly Choiseul Island (north-western Solomon Islands).

Extinct; last reported 1904.

This is a monotypic species[1].
