Distribution
From eastern Panama to western Colombia and north-western Ecuador, all west of the Andes.
Taxonomy
This species was formerly considered one species together with Gray-headed Elaenia and Amazonian Elaenia and this was named Gray Elaenia.
Subspecies
Two subspecies are recognized[1].
- M. p. absita:
- Extreme eastern Panama (Darién)
