Africa: Angola to Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Botswana.

Subspecies
Cisticola pipiens has three subspecies:[1]
- C. p. pipiens
- Western Angola
- C. p. congo
- C. p. arundicola
Habitat
Wet grassland and swamps.
Behaviour
Breeding
Monogamous.
Its nest is made from straw and leaves, placed on the ground under a bush. The clutch consists of 3-4 brown eggs.
Diet
The diet includes insects, fish and frogs.
