Distribution
Endemic to the Chatham Islands (Mangere Island and Little Mangare Island) south of New Zealand.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Thick forest and scrub.
Behaviour
Diet
The diet includes invertebrates, seeds, leaves, flowers, fruit, shoots and bark.
Breeding
It nests in crevices or tree hollows.
