Male

  • Greyish-white underparts
  • Black head
  • Scarlet mantle and back
  • Yellowish-green rump
  • Blackish-blue wings and tail
  • Pale ventral stripe

Female

  • Dark grey back
  • Brownish-grey underparts

Distribution

Philippines (rediscovered 1992 after 85-year absence on Cebu).

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Limestone forests.

Diet

The diet includes berries and fruit.
