Genus: Pittasoma
Description
Two species from South America with a long, straight bill.
Unlike other Antpittas they show sexual dimorphism.
Taxonomy
Pittasoma is a genus in the family Conopophagidae.
It was formerly placed in Formicariidae but DNA research showed that these two Antpittas are in fact very close to the Gnateaters.
