Description

All species characterized by pink to rose colors of adult, with juveniles more brownish initially and thereafter greyish. The pink color will only develop if they are able to eat crustaceans; their natural food are small crustaceans such as brine shrimp that they filter from water (often in high salinity lakes and ponds) using their bill dipped into the surface.
