Genus: Ixops
Description
This genus would contain four species:
They all have a crest and transverse barring on wings and tail. The tail is shorter than in other barwings and the body more streaked. Sexes are alike.
All four species inhabit broadleaf evergreen and mixed forest.
Taxonomy
Ixops is a genus in the Family Leiothrichidae.
It was formerly included in the family Timaliidae.
The four species are usually placed in Actinodura. However a new study has shown that this species belong to a different clade and should therefore be placed in another genus.
