Hieraaetus is a genus in the family Accipitridae.
Aquila vs. Hieraaetus
Hieraaetus species are sometimes placed in a broader defined Aquila (e.g. Clements, 2005, IOC). Howard & Moore (2013) retains the placement in Hieraaetus. According to this Bonelli's Eagle and African Hawk-Eagle have been moved to Aquila.
Rufous-bellied Eagle is now placed in its own genus Lophotriorchis.
