Western Africa: Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, DRC and Angola
Eastern Africa: Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia and Mozambique
Southern Africa: Namibia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, KwaZulu-Natal and eSwatini
African Islands: Gulf of Guinea Islands, Bioko (Fernando Po)

Behaviour
Breeding
Monogamous.
A dome shaped nest built from dead leaves and grass is placed on the ground. The 3-5 eggs are incubated for 15-16 days; the young fledge 19-21 days later.
Diet
The diet consists mostly of insects and spiders.
