Apalis alticola

Identification

12-13cm

  • Grey-brown upperparts
  • Darker crown and cheeks
  • White underparts
  • Pale orange eye
  • Pink legs and feet
  • Long tail
  • Long slender bill

Sexes alike
Juvenile: olive upperparts, yellowy underparts

Distribution

Central and east Africa:
Western Africa: DRC and Angola.
Eastern Africa: Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Malawi.

Taxonomy

  • Southern Zaire (Marungu Plateau)

Habitat

High altitude forests.
