Identification

Male
- Bluish-black head, neck, upperparts, throat and breast
- Chestnut belly and undertail coverts
- White crescent in front of eye
Female: eye crescent is rufous
Distribution
Australasia: found in the rainforests of Bougainville (Solomon Islands), Papua New Guinea.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Primary forests and sometimes in nearby second growth. Occurs from sea level to 1200 m.
Behaviour
Diet
There is little detail available. They eat small invertebrates such as grasshoppers.
Breeding
There is no information regarding their breeding behaviour.
