Male
- Olive-grey head, neck and upperparts
- Pale grey throat and chin
- Olive-brown mottling on forehead and crown
Distribution
Australasia: found on the mountains of Bougainville (north-western Solomon Islands), Papua New Guinea.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Primary montane and cloud forests, particularly in areas with mixed bamboo and tree ferns.
Behaviour
Diet
Their main diet consists of insects and fruit, and possibly also nectar.
Breeding
They construct a cup nest from rootlets and vegetable fibres, covering the outside with moss and ferns.
